Duties

This is not your typical desk job ! As a Parks Canada Field Unit Superintendent, you will be responsible for managing and operating a geographic group of national parks, national historic sites and/or national marine conservation areas while protecting the ecological and commemorative integrity of these national treasures. You will be the leader of a diverse and dedicated team who manages complex and high profile places and issues that attract public, media and political attention. You will take action and guide your team of managers and subject matter specialists in a way that encourages big-picture thinking, constantly seeking outcomes that benefit people, landscapes and seascapes.

As a successful candidate, you will play an important role making connections with local communities, Indigenous partners and external stakeholders by building relationships and working collaboratively with others to advance strategic priorities and deliver results. You will have the opportunity to protect and present some of Canada’s most special places, in an enduring and lasting way, making fellow Canadians proud.
