Assessment accommodation

When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.

Apply online or directly by email to rhllyk-llykhr@pc.gc.ca; we will accept applications online, by email, or by mail at PO Box 220, Radium Hot Springs, BC, V0A 1M0.

Applicants must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter how they meet the Education and Experience factors listed in the Essential Qualifications by providing concrete examples with significant details to explain WHEN, WHERE and HOW they meet each factor. Please note that it is not sufficient to only state that these factors are met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. Resumes will be used as a secondary source to validate the experience described in the cover letter.

Applications will be screened for interviews based on the information provided in the cover letter. Additionally, applications may be screened for interviews based on the Asset Qualifications identified in the position being staffed. During the interview process, Essential Qualifications will be assessed, and Asset Qualifications may be assessed on the following: knowledge, abilities and personal suitability. Following the interview process, successful candidates who are assessed as having met all the “essential” qualifications outlined below, will be placed in a qualified pool of candidates. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification during this interview process.

When a new work position becomes available, supervisors will then review the full assessments of the qualified candidate’s (looking at both “essential” and “additional” qualifications) to determine which qualified candidate is the “best fit” for a given position. Supervisors may undertake additional evaluation measures (interview, reference check etc.) with a short-listed group of two or more individuals, to further refine their understanding of the best fit at that time.

Failure to clearly demonstrate in your cover letter how you meet the Education and Experience factors found on the Statement of Qualifications, may result in the rejection of your application.

Normally, applicants will not be solicited for incomplete or possible missing information.

Additional information may be requested after closing date for screening and/or assessment purposes.
