We have a number of different Officer-level opportunities available in various work environments, across many program and service areas. Examples of duties may include:

• Playing a key role in the administration of federal benefit programs that impact the livelihood of Canadians.

Pools of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions, in various work environments and program/service areas, within ESDC/Service Canada in Ontario.

EDUCATION

Secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (a satisfactory score on the PSC test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma (GIT-320); or an acceptable combination* of education, training and/or experience).

*An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience is described as a minimum of 2 years secondary school education and 1 year of employment experience.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience using technology including word processing applications (e.g. Microsoft Word), email and video-conferencing applications.
• Experience working in a high-volume client service environment
• Experience working in a call centre environment
• Experience interpreting and applying legislation or policies
• Experience in working with client segments including any of the following: Indigenous Peoples, youth, seniors, newcomers, persons with disabilities.
• Ability to perform a range of arithmetic computations quickly and accurately

Tests

Cognitive Ability - Level 1

Applicants must complete the Unsupervised Internet Test of Cognitive Ability - Level 1 as part of the screening for this selection process. This test assesses general problem solving and reasoning ability. You will have 60 minutes to complete the test. You must complete the test before you submit your application for this position.
