We are looking for a motivated, compassionate leader with strong communications and interpersonal skills that can support our team’s commitment to service excellence, and contribute to a positive, respectful workplace culture. The Visitor Services Team Leader will oversee the day-to-day operations related to planning, organization, supervision and delivery of Visitor Services at BPNP and FFNMP. Duties include the training and supervision of front-line staff, providing customer service, sales, and the coordination of day-use and campground operations. The Team Leader is also responsible for the collection of revenue and visitation statistics of our two national parks, and other administrative duties.

Bruce Peninsula National Park (BPNP) and Fathom Five National Marine Park (FFNMP) are among Parks Canada’s most popular places, welcoming over 800,000 visitors each year. The Visitor Services team consists of over 20 front-line staff responsible for visitor registration and orientation, operation of day use areas and campgrounds, and providing support for many types of recreational activities.

• A minimum of 2 years post-secondary education or acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the position.
• Experience in planning and/or providing services to the public;
• Experience in assessing and ensuring quality of services;
• Experience in supervising which may include but not limited to assigning duties to work teams, inspecting work performance, monitoring working progress and/or training; and
• Experience in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

• Supervise a team of up to 20 persons at various locations within a park, historic site or marine conservation area
• Wear a Parks Canada uniform and abide uniform policy
• Work shift work, and/or evenings, and/or weekends and/or statutory holidays and/or provincial/territorial holidays
• Willingness to obtain and maintain First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification, Occupational Health and Safety Training, Workplace Hazardous Material Information System training and Quality Visitor Experience Training
• Ability to obtain MEDA3 and SVOP vessel operating certifications
• Travel for work and/or training purposes
