Job Description: The Canadian Forest Service (CFS) of Natural Resources Canada promotes the sustainable development of Canada's forests and the competitiveness of the Canadian forest sector. CFS offers jobs to qualified Aboriginal students through its Aboriginal Student Employment Program. It provides persons to be assessed with practical and meaningful employment in scientific, technical, or other forestry-related fields.
Various locations across Canada, including remote locations.
Hourly rates of pay: To be determined based on Treasury Board Secretariat student rates of pay.
Duration of employment: Variable

Academic Level: Secondary and Post-Secondary
Students from any specialization listed under one the following sub- groups can apply:

- Only Aboriginal persons will be considered. Applicants must self-identify in their FSWEP application that they are an Aboriginal person.

- For appointment processes where the area of selection was limited to Aboriginal peoples or to members of designated employment equity groups that included Aboriginal peoples, the Aboriginal candidates proposed for appointment or appointed must complete and sign the Affirmation of Aboriginal Affiliation Form (AAAF) as a condition of appointment prior to or at the same time as the letter of offer, even if they have already self-declared as an Employment Equity member when applying.
Successful completion of both an FSWEP work assignment and your educational program may lead to temporary or permanent federal public service positions for which you meet the merit criteria and conditions of employment.
